Gaffney, located in Cherokee County, is in the Upstate region of South Carolina. Over the last ten years, Cherokee County has grown dramatically, with new businesses and industries choosing to locate in this conveniently situated community halfway between Greenville, South Carolina, and Charlotte, North Carolina on I-85. Spartanburg, South Carolina, is only a short drive, too.
The county boasts a thriving educational system, with a newly constructed Gaffney High School and many recently constructed elementary schools. Limestone College, a private liberal arts college founded in 1845, also calls Gaffney home.
This Community is Our Home...
And each year Upstate Carolina Medical Center contributes an annual payroll of over fifteen million dollars to the local economy. The hospital also contributes hundreds of thousands in tax dollars and provides over ten million dollars worth of medical care to indigent and charity patients annually.
But that is only part of how we help our community.
The physicians, administrators, and associates of Upstate Carolina not only work here, they live here. And, because it is home, they care. They want to give back. And, they do. Whether it’s helping out with a youth sports program, serving on the board of a charitable organization, delivering Meals on Wheels, or picking up litter along the roadside, the professionals of Upstate Carolina are doing their part to make our community the best it can be.
We are neighbors. We are friends, and we are good for each other. You and us. Upstate Carolina Medical Center and the community it serves.
